Change Your Story Inc in Douglasville, Georgia has organized a series of programs to help women, teens, and girls. One of these is a coat drive for 100 kids living in a hotel in the city.

Counseling

Here, we create a special place where women propel the fulfillment of their potential and empowerment. We believe that women need to take pride in the core values of our culture, and their strategies. To make it happen, we should develop a lifestyle to fit who we truly

want to be.

We bring women together in a safe space to learn life and vocational skills. Once enrolled, each receives a vital support that enables her to participate. Women increase their ability to earn an income with new skills that are in-demand. They learn about their legal rights, and they become knowledgeable about health and nutrition. The result: a stronger woman, stronger families, and stronger communities. This ripple effect is profound.

Change Your Story delivers programs through the generous support of individuals, corporate and foundation donors, partners, and governments. The women gain benefits such as scholarships, free tutoring, help with styling, help with job placement, and etiquette skills.

Hey Gorgeous Girl Talk

Come and join us twice a month on Saturdays for Hey Gorgeous, a lifetime mentoring program for young adult women and girls. Change Your Story mentors and inspires these women and girls to love who they are on the inside as well as the outside. We support this philosophy through God’s plan and design for our lives.

This campaign is aimed at girls 8th grade to 12th grade and women age 19 and up. We also lend a helping hand to homeless women and children.

Training Skills and Job Placement

Receive the necessary intensive training for the essential job skills you need to earn an income and help support your family. We also help with job placement and substance abuse awareness and prevention. Addiction can affect any woman, regardless of income level, race, or gender.

In fact, 40 million people ages 12 and older in the U.S. are addicted to either alcohol or drugs. We can counsel these women and help them improve their lives so they can become productive citizens of our community.

Child Abuse Counseling

Every year more than 3 million reports of child abuse are made in the United States. It’s a terrible epidemic that we at Change Your Story are dedicated to put an end to. To do this, we need to first increase awareness of the issue itself. Child abuse is when a parent or caregiver, whether through action or failing to act, causes injury, death, emotional harm, or risk of serious harm to a child.

There are many forms of child maltreatment, including neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse, exploitation and emotional abuse. If you see any signs of abuse in someone you know, or if you yourself are involved in an abusive relationship, get help right away.

Misuse of Love

We provide a safe space where children, teens, and families can recover from and gain awareness of sexual abuse. Here, we teach the younger generation how to protect themselves and stand against people who have violated their rights. Apart from counseling, we offer recreational activities such as puppet shows. We work with a credible staff and take care of each child as if they were from our own family.
